I have a Lee Enfield from the WW1 that was my grandfather in law's. It was sporterised and i want to take her back to its original condition.
The way I see it as best is to buy one that is in original condition and take the full wood and bayonet lug and other parts off of it.
what would you guys do?
Is this going to work??

Parting out a complete, correct rifle to restore a bubba is a bad idea, IMHO. You then have two incorrect, incomplete rifles, instead of one.

Springfield just bumped their price to $60, which is still quite good for what you get. I spoke with them last week and they told me that's partly because they simply couldn't keep up with the orders! I told them it could not be only my fault :)

Fester, lots of info previously posted about this subject. A bit of searching should answer your questions. Feel free to send me a PM too, I'm happy to share the little knowledge that I have about this subject.
