Hi all i just bought a 1943 lee enfield and am having issues with the casings after firing. There are buldges on the side of the brass, i am unsure if its a head spacing issue or something else. If anyone else has had a similar issue or knows what to do i would really appriciate any advice.

The chambers on these rifles are cut purposely on the large side. The ammo they used wasn't intended to be reloaded.

What you're seeing is perfectly normal. Sometimes it's alarming. If you're planning on reloading for this rifle, neck size only and it will make the cases last longer.

No way to fix this, other than to set the barrel back and recut the chamber with a smaller reamer. The thing is, if you do that the furniture on the fore end will no longer fit.
