Any idea whether these grenades were successfully used in combat and could actually destroy a German tank?

No idea. I doubt it could take out anything but the very earliest of German armored vehicles. Penetration was only 50mm, at best.

You would have to have some cast iron balls to take on a German tank with that. At under 50 yards, no less.

50mm would work against anything up to a PIVd early versions so appropriate in the Battle of France and shortly after.
It wasn't great, but the best in the world at the time considering the alternatives.

The ended up being used against bunkers,houses etc. in Italy.

I wish I could have got more info when I got them at Auction but ...
