Just a bump to an older thread, any chance of reproduction Ross wood? There used to be a guy in Canada (Yukon?) that made them, but if I'm not mistaken he fully retired
Another old thread bump. For anyone wondering how these stocks look, here is an idea. I bought a $175 sporterized SMLE off the EE. Another EE ad brought me to a CGN'er who was able to supply me all the metal bits and bobs. After a few hours of fine sanding and fitment, I started the finishing process. For me, I went with boiled linseed oil since that is, from what I gather, what the factories used. I did one coat a day for 6 days, with 0000 steel wool sanding between each coat. I hope to get it out to shoot on these days off.
I know I mentioned it in another thread, but it is worth thanking Marstar again for their exceptional service when I bought this stock set. They had no problem holding it to the side for me while I waited for other items to come in stock. Then they phoned when the items were in stock to complete the order... then phoned back to tell me they found a different shipping option in order to save me money! (Also, an after-order follow up e-mail that was a very pleasant surprise as well). This is my 3rd or 4th order from Marstar (the first being WAY back during the $75 SKS days), and with the service I have received, I look forward to shopping there again
Lastly, thanks to the wife for letting me commandeer her "Welcome to the Garden" bear and swap his sign for a rifle, which I think looks much better!

Just bought the last stock set from Marstar. Hope I'm as successful as you were in building one from one of my sporterized SMLE's. Your rifle looks really good.
Thanks for the order! Please to post a picture of your finished rifle when it's done, we love to see how these turn out.
We just got re-stocked on these wood sets, No1MK3 and No4MK1 are available.
If you can add a No4MK1 stock set to my order it would save me some shipping costs. Please let me know. Thanks.
What section Are the No 4 mk1 stocks in?
