Hey Lee Enfield experts, I just acquired a really nice 1917 BSA manufacture, No1 MkIII* sporter that I'd like to return to full military configuration. Bolt, receiver, barrel, and rear sight match. The barrel is in really great shape and has not been shortened. Bolt and receiver bluing and metal are both excellent. Some very superficial pitting on the barrel where the bluing has rubbed off a bit. So overall she's a great candidate for desporterization (is that a word?). Have you seen the direction Enfield prices have been going lately? Wow!
Anyway, I've been looking at nosecaps for sale and see that there were a number of variations over time (4,5, maybe more?) as well as all the different manufacturers. I think that I need one that has the provision for the stacking swivel but other than than that don't know which variation I need. Please help! Likewise, the rear sight guard seems to have a number of variations, and some have straight ears while others have one ear with a kink on one side. Pretty sure I need the kinked one, but was there more than one kinked variation? Any other resto tips would be appreciated too...Thanks!
