Lee Enfield No4 Mk2 Unboxing

I hate to be the guy, but with the wrapper, he removed a thousand bucks from the rifle's value.

That's the reason why I would never buy such a rifle, I would remove the wrapper first thing arriving home.

Once I bought a French Mas 36/51 brand new in the wrapper. The wrapper was used the same day to light the wood stove :), and it burned very well.
 
Beautiful looking rifle but I would never unwrap it if I had one in my possession, the collector in me couldn’t do it. It rather buy a nice condition full wood example to shoot if that’s what I wanted.
 
I bought one a few years back that the seller had just removed from the wrap and slapped on the table. Covered stem to stern in that heavy, waxy grease (bore packed also). After a few months of it smelling up my safe I very, very carefully cleaned it. Now it can be seen in all it's unused, brand-new glory and I'm not sure I understand why it would be less valuable than one still in its packing carton. In the wrap there can be the beginnings of corrosion- I can't imagine they were expected to stay in the wrappers for 60 years. Out of the wrap a potential buyer can see exactly what they're getting.

It’s kinda like comic books... more valuable in original packaging.

But, I’m of the same opinion of the majority - you’re only on this planet for so long, someone will eventually unwrap and shoot it, might as well be you! Don’t know about the rest of you fellas but personally I’ve never regretted breaking in virgins teehee.

Best bet I would think is at a gun show, but it would be an extremely random occurrence.

There haven't been any brought into Canada in over 30 years, the EE or an auction would be the best bet. I had one, kept it for almost 20 years an sold it for many times what I bought it for. They were about $200 when they came in. I also have one from the same batch that was used as a drill rifle by a university cadet program in the UK, it hadn't been fired when I bought it, but it had been knocked around, they're probably the best made of all Enfields.
