LEE ENFIELD No5 Bayonets,

I think International Military Antiques has new Ishapore production No. 5 bayonets and scabbards for about US$60. You might try their on-line store. They're under the British heading. I have one for my deactivated Stirling SMG.

I bought an original No.5 bayonet for $60.00 and got the rifle with it.

Mind you that was in 1970!

And no...I no longer have it.
I sold it to my buddy Bill who then resold it...The Bastage!

Yes Bill...I will never forget!

I'm looking since 3 years! Very hard to find. Be aware of fakes!
A copy goes for 100 USD! I would look at UK auction sites as well.

Look here, if you like http://www.bayonets.com/

This guy sells good stuff!

I have one more RFI No. 5 Jungle Carbine bayonet and scabbard for sale. Brand new, not perfect but close to it. $99 Canadian +$13 shipping.

Just bought the RFI Bayo from IMA and is somewhat rough shape. Blade is painted black and had to perform some machining on it to get it to fit on my 1946 No. V. Grips were chipped. Not a real good bayo but for $60 US, I'm not complaining too much. Looks OK now however the fit is still a little loose and it doesn't fall off the rifle

That's the one. I bought 4 of them, kept one for myself. They all fit my rifle perfectly. Are they exactly as nice as a good condition original? No...but try to find one of those. A rare bird...

When I bought my No. V a number of years back;) I asked about a Bayo to go with it. The gun show dude started laughing an said the Bayo is actually worth more than the rifle:eek: I was somewhat shocked but after looking for a number of years for one that was reasonable priced (an original that is) I decided "Screw It" and bought one of the ones IMA sells. All the original Bayos do sell for more than the rifle and for me, the rifle is more important than the bayo and with the bucks I saved, I can get another No.V:)

One thing I've learned is that a proper no.5 scabbard has a brass throat. The steel throats were made I believe in the 50's and up. The no 5/7/9 bayonets and the C1/L1 bayonets all take the same scabbard. Most no 5 bayonets were re-used and re-arsonaled for the sterlings, that is why many have blued blades. The no 5 bayonets were made from 44 to 47. After that these bayonets that were made specifically for the Sterling are marked STERLING. There are 2 varients: the MK1 and the MK 2. The MK1 has one screw on the grips and is very rare. The MK2 has 2 screws on the grips. There are fakes and repros being made, so be aware. Indian made no5 bayonets are marked RFI.
