Hello,

I have a Lee Enfield No5 MK1(F) that is stamped "3/47 Z 8545".

I am assuming that the 3/47 is March 1947. Anyone know what the "Z 8545" means?

What is also interesting about this gun is the buttstock and forestock looks almost brand new with the end of the buttstock stamped "Judd Waterford Ont". So the stock was replaced with one made by the Judd Gunstock company of Waterford, Ontario. Just wondering what year they stopped making gun stocks?

Thanks in advance :)

post some pics they will help the gurus figure it out! just did a post like this for my "new" jungle carbine

Here are some pics, notice the cheek rest on the Butt Stock and the insignia on the Butt "Judd Waterford Ont"
