Hey All,

Looking for some information and possible help with valuation of a Lee Enfield No5Mk1(F) Jungle Carbine.

Completely original condition, if I had to pin a condition on it I would say good to very good.
Details as follows:

- Date stamp reads 9/44
- Serial number begins with A###X
- All serial numbers match, (furniture, bolt, magazine, etc)
- No Bayonet

Any idea what something like this goes for? Online I have found it listed anywhere from $350 to $400. Is this a fair assessment?
Apologies for no pictures however I will try to upload a few a tad bit later.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Condition is everything, especially looking at bore, and also has any alteration been made (cutting parts of the flash hider; proper rear sight, graduated to 800 yards); but typically, for a complete, unaltered original, you see them listed for more than $500 these days here in the EE.

Yeah they have gone up. Im not sure what they actually sell for but you see them listed from 550-800$ on EE. I would assume 500-600$ is what they sell for. But there are a lot of factors and hard ro guess without pics.

Cut parts like the bayonet lug, incorrect parts, and mismatched magazines all happen.
Production started in March, so 9/44 was a decently early rifle. I've got one marked 9/45, with the handguard metal cap cut off so it had been sent to hot and humid operations after WW2.

For a solid unit, no alterations, numbers matching, sans bayonet, I'd say ~$600.

I really appreciate all the reply's and information.
I'll have to inspect it a bit more but from what I recall, the bayonet lug is not altered in any way, the sight is graduated to 800, rear peep sight is mounted on the receiver as opposed to the barrel, stock is hollowed out as well as the bolt handle.
Again, thank you for the replies and I will be sure to post pictures as soon as I'm done this infernal thing they call, 'work'.

Cheers!

The hollowing out that you mention is in-line with lightning cuts that were made to the No5 to save weight. There's a number of other cuts like a scalloped barrel around the chamber and under the rear sight. Google it to see pictures if you're curious.

About a year ago I got one that is matching for $550. It’s nice and shoots well. It has the Ishapore screw in it which to some takes away value but for me if it works, is safe and can ring steel at 100m I am happy
