lee enfield & ross parts question

couple of questions for you most knowing milsurp junkies.

I have a lee enfield type 1 mark 3*. now the everything but the butt is a very dark red coloured wood. the butt is a lighty sandy coloured. I was just wondering if you could tell me types they are.

also does ayone have the link on how to turn a lee enfield hand guard into one for a ross. also what would the right wood type to use? are any other gun parts that can be switched between the two?

hoping to make some matching rifles.
