Lee Enfield scope mount

Are you looking for an exact replica of the WWII No.4(T) sniper rifle mount, or a non-gunsmithing modern aftermarket piece?

The former requires two even harder to find bases ("pads"), but the latter only requires knowledge of which one to buy and the funds to act.

There are no no-gunsmithng look alikes. There are no-gunsmithing mounts. The style that replaces the rear sight and wedgelocks to the receiver works, but positions the scope very high. The Cad Technik is more sophisticated, and also positions the scope quite high.

Also from www.cabelas.com "Enfield Scope mounts. Get solid scoped-rifle accuracy from your .303 Enfield. These mounts use Weaver-style rings, require no gunsmithing, are easy to install and give great stability. All necessary hardware and instructions are included"

"Specify order code. (485-No 1 MK3) or (486-No 4 MK1 Enfield). XT- 22-1833"

And the best part is the price of US $ 34.99, which are the lowest for any scope mounts I have seen for the Lee-Enfield rifle.

Unfortunately, Cabela's cannot ship one of these mounts to Canada without obtaining a US Commerce Department export licence, and I do not believe that they will do this. Districorp in Montreal has the no gunsmithing S&K mount, with rings, for C$75 retail.

tiriaq, a canadian company in Abbotsford B.C., named Letterlock, which you can google, also have an american adress. in which Cabelas legally. and without any paper works, can send the scope mount to, and Letterlock will for a nominal fee, bring the scope mount across the border, and then ship to you. Check it out :)

That's good to know. I wasn't aware that a Canadian business was able to get a US export licence. Thought only folks in the US could do that. Makes it easier for Letterlock to get the Cdn. DFAIT import licence, and then turn around and get the US Commerce export licence, without having to involve a US company.

Marstar has Enfield scope mounts. Does anybody use the ATI mount from Marstar ?
I have the B-Square mount . There's been some discussion on the reliability of the B-Square and I did have to do some minor "tweaking " , but it's worked out quite well since .

if you go to the 3O3 webpage there is a directions on making a simple but very effective angle iron scope mount that fits the side of a #4[the flat sided reciever]

Made one of these for a PH sported receiver, out of some aluminum angle. Mounted a flat bottomed Weaver base on top. Drilled and tapped the holes for the Weaver base using my Forster jig, so the holes were lined up properly. Don't know why a mount like the one Woodchopper has illustrated couldn't be made, mounting the same way. Aluminum angle is a lot easier to work than steel, and is plenty strong enough. I have a Cad Technik on one of my rifles. Very nicely made, and the scope can be detached if desired, leaving the base on the rifle.

Since my name is mentioned I'll have to post something.

If you have to tools and the knowledge to use them anything is possible :)

Now that I've confirmed the obvious. :D

I have a S&K mount that replaces the rear site and is screwed down with sort of a jam nut on charger bridge that works OK, but its awfully high.

Sorry - Senior's moment - Timberlord posted the photos. Knew the name had something to do with trees.....

No.4/5 mounts by B-Square, S&K, ATI, and Cad Technik all attach using existing holes and do not require drilling and tapping, so the rifle is unaltered.
