OMG. For rifles that sold for less than $20 alone in the early 80's, wow times have changed. :)
I was told some a friend who runs a military museum that after the war Enfields were sold off by the government for $20 per TON. Now it's more than twice that to buy one mag. Wish my dad had bought a couple of tons.

My dad was a child in England after WW2 and remembers farmers buying bombers and fighters for the price of the fuel. Tires were a bonus. How things have changed.

Always nay-sayers when it comes to milsurps. These will definitely sell, they don’t make new WW2 era surplus rifles, they only appreciate in value.

If you want affordable furniture go to IKEA, if you walk into an antique store, you don’t compare the prices to IKEA. Antiques are antiques.

True enough. Look at the prices of the SKS these days, compared to 20 years ago. I wonder what a P-1769 Brown Bess went for new vs today? For perspective the price on complete original M16's in the USA is over $3000 (pre-ban stripped Colt lowers are $1200 and up). Full wood Lee Enfields have been around the $1000+ mark for a while now.

I believe you're missing a '0'.

Yep. I took many trips down to the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot over the past 15 years and the cheapest pre-ban full auto I ever saw was $3000US for a STEN MK II (original cost $9). Thompsons went for $25000-$30000. Hell, when the US 'assault rifle' ban was on I saw a 100 round Thompson mag for $10000 (just the mag).

The first SKS I ever bought was a Norinco which I purchased from Sarco when they were in New Jersey. $80 brand new. That was around 1993.

Yes, liberal ignorance can be a blessing at times. I'm just reading Seven Days in Hell about our Black Watch snipers. At a reunion, Hook Wilkinson age 92 was able to put 5 rounds downrange in about 10 seconds with a #4 LE and shot a 2moa group with one flyer at 100 yards. That's our Lees.
