Guys I need some help.
I got a hold of a no4 barrelled receiver and I am trying to restore it but I keep running into problems.

I was trying to put the safety on but it seems different then the my other no4, how many different kind of n4 receivers are out there?

Weird. Seems to be unfinished. The required machining for the safety isn't done. How did that one come out of the factory... ???

Do you have more pictures of the receiver? Is it the only thing that isn't finished on the receiver?

Did they ever experiment with a simplified safety that didn't lock the bolt? Just caught the cocking piece?
I suppose it could be assembled without the bolt lock.

Receiver markings, PLEASE!!!!!

If you look hard you can see the Maltby "M" and a British broad arrow.

The only markings that I can see on the receiver is M1942 and looks like an arrow pointing down, and No4Mk1

Just me, or is there no flat spot on top of the barrel either ? Something from the Khyber Pass?
