How can it extend brass life? It is one more stress applied to the case neck.

that's why I apply a light to medium crimp
heavy crimps split the case mouth in one or 2 firings

In 5.56 out of my AR, it tightened groups with Matchkings when set to just barely kiss the case mouth - barely visible, but there.

Gave it a try in other calibers; no difference, sold them down the road.

Yup, it's not magic but it can help a lot with certain cartridges.

I just started reloading this year and don’t have lots of time to do it but I got in the habit/process of using the LFC on everything I reload. Can’t say it does or doesn’t make a difference, but I do it!

I've noticed an improvement in standard deviation when using the FCD

Thank you all for the feedback. I did try the FCD on my 257 Wby loads, and Lo and behold, it works! This afternoon, I was able to achieve a .159" three shot group at 75 yards with a 117 gr. Hornady SST.
