Lee Hand Loader Speed Test in 303 British

I have a Lee Hand loading set for my .303 British and finally figured out the right way to use it. I cooked up 40 rounds today and it was relatively quick so I shot this video, a speed test.



After 40 rounds my shoulder will be sore so this works great for 303

You can find these kits on the lee website or at gun shows for about 20 dollars and its a great way to learn to reload because you do all the steps manually so you respect the process of reloading on a press or progressive much more.

A lot of guys who only reload a few boxes a year and only shoot a couple of calibers use these. It's a great way to start hand loading with minimal expense. Kinda similar to the way the old buffalo hunters and mountain men would've done it. I think Cabelas stocks these in some popular calibers.
 
Yes you can load ammunition that will function. What you can't do with the kit is fine tune powder charges, and you can't full length size brass,and you can't trim brass, so when the brass becomes tight in the chamber after a few loadings, or the cases grow too long, you can't load that brass any more. LEE loaders are about providing the cheapest ammunition possible, but they don't allow precision load development, with the tooling provided in the kit.

With the addition of a scale and trimmer you alleviate the most important of those problems. The only thing they won't do is full length size brass, but if you only have one gun that's not that much of an issue overall.
