Okay so I was at the local guns hop today and was about to order that 12 gauge Lee Loader for $59 bucks or whatever. But as I mentioned I'll be using it primarily for 00 buck the guy told me it is damn near impossible to get the 00 pellets.

So CGNers is this true? Should I not bother with it if I primarily want to do 00 buck, or 000 buck?

I have the Lee Load All II and love it. Epps has some Hornady Buckshot in stock, but I bought a Lee .319 round ball mold and make my own O Buck. I have had great success making 9 pellet loads with my Load All home cast shot and found hulls.

That's awesome! Do you know if Epps has any Lee Loaders in stock? Don't feel like waiting; plus it'd be nice to pick up the Loader itself, some hulls, wads, and shot etc. all at once this weekend and start mass producing :)

I have two Load Alls, I really like them. I got an ORIGINAL one when they first came out a zillion years ago and another I picked up at a garage sale. New in the box WITH a reloading manual for $10.00...
Anyway, it's a great loader. For Buckshot I picked up a bag from Wholesale a few years ago but I also cast it with a Lyman mold I picked up on greedbay. There's lots of them there at any given moment, you just have to shop around to find someone that'll ship to Canada cheap. That's also where I picked up my roll crimpers for loading slugs and buck.

Just to clarify is the OP talking about a Lee Load All, or is he talking about the Lee Loader, the kind where you whack it with a rubber mallet?

If the latter $59 is a rip-off.

I started with a Load All back in the 1970's. Not a bad loader but for a hundred bucks more you can get yourself a Mec 600 Junior which turns out quality loads with factory like crimps. Look on Ebay as you may find a Mec for real cheap. As for buck shot...don't think your going to get it to meter through any of the aformentioned.

Williams Arms in Port Perry has a Load All II 12ga press in stock, and may have all the components you want too. Lee Does not make the Loader in shotgun sizes anymore (the one you whack with a hammer).

My Lee makes FAR nicer crimps then my MEC 600. The Lee ones are factory perfect IF you line the crimp up in the die. It's simple, you just eyeball it for the sweet spot. My MEC does OK but not as well.
BTW in 1972 I bought a LEE loader for 20ga., the one you wack with a mallet. I still have it and it loaded THOUSANDS of rounds with it.
