Lee press

press

I had a Lee press for years but after some magnum resizing it failed. I purchased a new RCBS Partner press from Russell's, it is very solid and should outlast the Lee press.:dancingbanana: The RCBS press was less than a $100 and I'm very happy with it.

The Lee Classic Cast is a great big heavy ass single stage that can load 50BMG......$100. Best buy in a single stage IMHO. I have 2 Lee presses, the CC and the Turret. Both do what I want from them.

I have both a Lee and a new Hornady Lock N Load AP.

You are welcome to come by and try them both out.....

Just give me a couple of days to finish my new loading area that I am building as a home for my LNL..

I recently broke the toggle haves on my Challenger press using a collet neck sizer on 7mm-08. Lee sent me free parts even though I'm out of warranty which was nice but I still plan to go to the classic cast shortly.

The rock chucker is a good press and it would be a great press if they priced it appropriately. I'd pay $120 for it, but its not 2x as good as the Classic cast.

I have the Lee Cast Classic, it's a great deal on a super press. I use it for the bulk of my rifle reloading. My Challenger is now used solely for decapping my BP cases.

I just received my Lee Classic Turret press yesterday. Set it up last night & just tried a few .45ACP's. After researching on various forums it was determined that it is easy to do 200 rounds per hour on this press. This will easily fulfill my requirements. However if I were shooting a great deal of ammo eg: IPSC or PPC I would likely go with a full progressive press.

So far so good, it feels solid & very smooth operating.:D

Rod.

You could do worse than the Lee Anniversary Kit to start with. But there are many options. What calibers are you planning to load?

I loaded about 40,000 rounds on a Lee turret (handgun ammo) I had to change a nylon bushing once. No misfires, no kabooms, no other accidents or incidents of any kind, just a ton of ammo at a very low price. If you're starting to load for handguns a turret is quick enough to be practical, but not so fast you're thinking WTF just happened. I'd very highly recomend it - in fact now that I'm getting back into handguns (new RPAL) I'm thinking of getting a 4 station turret for auto pistol.

I bought a Lee Anniversary kit to get started and it has worked fine for me. I reload 8mm Mauser and I get good, accurate ammo out of it. I did replace the scale with an RCBS one however as I found the Lee one a pain to zero and quickly set.

The Lee Classic Cast is a great press, especially for the price. I've been generally happy with most of my Lee purchases................... excepting the Safety Scale. It works, but I can't wait to replace it with something better.
