I prime on my single stage press but get irritated with switching from small to large primers. It's only a small pin/cup/spring assembly that needs to be disassembled/reassembled but can be such a pain in the butt.

So I was looking for an alternative and saw a Youtube video on the Ram Prime and kind of liked it. Any of you guys out there that have experience with it? Is it good or just a gimmick?

I used to prime on the press but then I switched to a Lee Auto-prime and can do 100 cases per minute
I will assume that's a typo, if not please post a video!

I have the ram prime and used it for 500mag, but it's slow so I got an Auto-prime which is much faster!

I have two RCBS Universal priming tools, one set up for small primers, one for large. With no shell holders to change, I waste very little time priming.

Everyone should have a ram prime. It's a great backup when other systems fail, and you can't beat the power and sensitivity of loading a single primer like that. Plus it takes up next to no space in your drawer when not in use. It is slow, however.

I like the factory lee flip thing that's on the single stage presses , I just prime on the down stoke when resizing

I have an auto prime as well but it gets hard on the hand when you have tight primer pockets

ive bean using one for 2years+, they are real finicky. they dont feed when not many primers are in.
i would have liked to have a handprime, but i think they needed a separate shell holder.

i regret it, ever since.
