Is it just me or is there a huge Lee shortage right now? Looking to buy a Classic Cast, and Cabelas, Amazon, and a bunch of the more popular US sites I've looked don't have them in stock either.

It just sucks because the best price I can find is Cabelas at $160 and they have a free shipping promotion right now.

WSS is out of stock, too. Lee makes these things in batches, probably see some on the shelves again in a month or 2.

Did you call or e-mail Budget Shooter Supply or Higginsons?

x-reload might be able to help you out too.

I have purchased stuff from Titan Reloading too, the $ is coming up a little. The price plus shipping and exchange will probably run you about the same price or less than a retail store.

Damn, that sucks. I suppose I could grab a Rock Chucker. I really want a progressive but I don't have the cash to grab a Dillon, which is the one I want because of the Swage It tool.

Natchez Shooter Supply has the lee classic cast in stock for US$118. I have bought lots from NSS, they are good people to deal with. Just make sure to tell them to ship by postal service, not courier.

Nah, looking at the original because I think I'd rather use the Hornady bushings. I have the Breech Lock hand press and I find it's not really that smooth changing dies.

And they're also out of stock.

I was looking for some Lee dies, I went to 3 stores and nobody had anything in stock and their suppliers were out as well

I have some Lee 9mm dies (4-set kit) that I may part with as I have yet to buy a press, but may be leaning toward a Dillon finally. Bought the kit on impulse as they too were very hard to find at the time. Those Dillon fanboys really crap all over Lee. Make you feel inferior for purchasing. Gotta say though the lifetime no BS warranty is a very nice selling point, especially in the Squares

Love LEE dies, good quality and it loads accurate ammo too. Not a fan of LEE presses though, my shooting partner has the progressive unit from LEE, not sure the model and it is horrible for loading 9mm. Would buy a Dillon instead if it were me.

Like the lee dies. For press go HDY or DILL. Lee press is flimsy and finicky.

Lee progressive presses are pretty bad....the classic cast single stage is s tank though, everything the rock chucker is at least.

Have to disagree somewhat.

On LEE progressive presses you are correct, they are finnicky, but this thread is about single station presses - and the LEE Classic Cast is a s solid as anything I've used. Very good stuff.

LEE dies OTOH do occasionally cause issues. LEE dies have the depriming rod secured only by friction, they are not threaded. This a problem that will arise occasionally and some people who have used LEE dies long enough tend to avoid them for that reason.

Ive only ever had the depriming rod come loose once, and that was back in the early days of reloading, After tightening in place it has never come loose again.
