Can anyone tell me what this stamp might mean? It is on an old full wood Lee Speed. Don't know why pic is upside down, was upright on my computer. tried deleting and flipping it before reposting, now I have two upside down
Its a MLE or MLM aka Long Lee you will find more info searching for those ( it very well could be a commercial lee enfield so technically a lee speed rifle but used in a millitary contract)
It is marked Lee Speed, does not have a year stamp or king's name. I'm guessing this means it is commercial but it is full wood with mag cut off and volley sights.
It's probably a civilian competition rifle - there were some very strict rules in certain classes about not modifying the service rifle in any way. Wealthy shooters would buy their own gun ordered to exact military specifications for these classes.
