whoever uses these turret presses, the hex nut that allows the press to auto index as you know is quite cheap for lack of a better word, and mine is now stripped. Has anyone found something that can be used for it instead of these plastic things through Lee?

Buy a new one, take it to a machine shop and ask them if they can make you a brass one. It will probably last a lifetime, but will not be cheap.
 
I have not broke one on mine, but as mentioned above it is made as the weak link like a fuse so that it fails first. If you put a metal part in it's place and make the same mistake that broke the plastic one more damage to other parts could occur. I would recommend buying a couple spares and not half stroking the press. Only full top to bottom rotating turret pulls of lever. If needed you can disable the auto index and then this is not an issue.

Do you have the proper P/N for that? I'm about to order a Lee Classic Turret press so I might as well order some extras while I'm at it.

There should be a spare with a new press, there was in mine that I bought 3 years ago. BTW I just changed mine so I'll be looking for that Part No.
 
I didi a search for Lee Turret Press parts and found this square plastic nut
described as follows:
Part TF3567 for product 4 HOLE UPDATE KIT W/AI (Code=90933)
This part installs inside the black auto index clamp on the steel ram. The square black ratchet rides on the 1/4"x 1/4" steel index rod.
In order to maintain the integrity of the Square Ratchet, remember to raise the Ram which disengages the ratchet from the housing and allows the Index Rod to spin freely. It is at this point that the Turret can be removed and installed at will.

Tf3567 is the part i need. And yes it is probably my fault as i have a tendency to not use full strokes. the weak link makes sence though. I never really thought of that.
