'Leeway' in IPSC

Gothmog and Laniru in IPSC ?

That would R O C K ......

It's almost like having Slavex joining the RO ranks... (wake up ! that has happened)

One of our TOP rated (read veteran/experienced/well known) was DQ'ed in this year's Provincial. If that doesn't prove to you that there is no 'preference' given to any shooter.. I dont know what would ...

When I am RO'ing on the stage, it doesnt matter if the guy is wearing an IPSC BC, IPSC Alberta or a plain yellow shirt. My eye is on the trigger finger and making sure nobody breaks 90.

Being an RO is a thankless job. It is no different from being a referee. Any call that is disadvantageous to a shooter will be met with either a look of unbelief, to a tantrum (and I have seen this from veterans).

Once you become an RO, you do become a better shooter as you tend to read the rulebook more and there is nobody better at the rulebook than Hungry Beagle on this board. Look at his classification and search for his post.
That would prove my point.

Gothmog and Laniru.. when ?

Well Nighthawk, I have shot at a couple of TMSA Club matches and will continue to do so, time permitting. I had intended to get my Black Badge last year, but unfortunately my schedule did not line up properly with that of the course and so I had to abandon that idea.

It can be difficult to add new weekend activities when you are handling a few already and you work full time and have a family ... but I will try to add IPSC this year, although club matches are really all I need.

I should add that in spite of fears to the contrary, this thread has survived several pages with good discussion and no flaming whatsoever ... well done gentlemen, for sticking to the topic in a reasoned way.

I would like to take the course before the end of January. After that I go back to six day work weeks. I also need to squeeze in the Utah CCW seminar, which I think is the last week of Jan.

If anybody is running the BB in that time frame, shoot me a PM!:)

There are many Rules Lawyers that know the book far better than me, especially out in Ontario. Nobody makes it to the upper levels of this sport (as Match Directors and Competitors at large matches) without knowing the rulebook well.
