left hand bolt action

I am a left hand long gun shooter, and have the exact same LH Savage in 17 HMR. It's nice and accurate.
I also just purchased at CZ 453 Varmint RH. I got the RH because I was too impatient to wait for a LH to be brought in. I have shot LH my whole life, and used RH guns because that’s all there were so I had to adapt. I don't find it a big challenge with the RH bolt. Some semi's I have to be careful because of brass hitting my face.

Which semis hit your face? My semis have only ever hurt me when stray brass met my weiner that one time. DO NOT WEAR PJ'S WHEN SHOOTING!

Ruger 10/22 I had spit out brass on my right forearm everytime, and when wearing short sleeve shirts, it was a problem. I also have a CZ 75b that spits brass at my head all the time. Lefties learn to adapt.

yeah ive had that problem too with a Remington speedmaster, when i took off the little piece that deflects the shells down ;p

I have never had a problem with my semis, but it may also be the ejectors. I love and hate being a lefty at the same time.

I too am a lefty. I really like Savage Centre fires. Their fit and finnish is as good or better than Remington or Winchester. For rimfires, I have owned a few Savage lefties, still have one in HM2. Bought them to shoot till I could afford better guns and then have sold them. They shot well, were reliable but usually required some tuning of the magazine, ejector, bedding etc.

I have now gone to the CZs, and Anschutzs for my rimfires. More money, and you have to save your pennies longer, and as long as you have a Savage to shoot while your saving, its all good. Shot those Sabvages for three or four yrears each and got back almost what I paid for them becuase the prices kept going up.

Once you have used the CZs or Anschutzs, you won't go back to the Savage rimfires.
