Left Handed 25-06

Might be better just to have one built or settle for another chambering.

.
I'm gonna have to agree with this. I'm a lefty, and 25-06 is one caliber I've rarely if ever seen on the used market. Lots of options in 30cal, good availability of 6/6.5/7mm stuff, lots of 270win too... But very few 25cals.

About the only thing a 25-06 can do that a 270win can't is throw 25cal bullets... I mean, it can do that too, but you might not like the accuracy you get. lol

They do pop up from time to time. Just have to be vigilant, as they don't last long when they do.
Just this past week there was a LH Ruger M77 in the pepper laminate stock that sold within a day or two, on another forum (#######).
I have also seen the odd Rem 700 and Browning A Bolt and X Bolt come up for sale.

You could get a nice LH 270 Win or 30-06 and have it rebarreled...may be easier to get what you want, in a more timely fashion. May not be less expensive though...

I saw that Ruger as well it’s a very nice looking rifle. The same website has a nice sako in 25-06 right now. I think there is a savage too!

I've been going through this exact dilemma myself. Just sold my heavy barrel left handed 25-06 because I really want a sporter weight.

Savage makes a left handed Axis in 25-06 (I owned one in the past, it was a laser) and they can be found in stock, however it's a 22 inch barrel and frankly I'd like something nicer than an Axis.

They also list a 24" 110 model in the current line up.

Browning did have a left handed option, but seems to be recently gone from their site.

That M77 that was just listed was tempting.

Seen a Sako or two listed.

Rebarreling seems like the best option, I've got a nice donor sitting here, but I'm having a hard time justifying the cost. For the price of a rebarrel I could just buy a Tikka or something in a different "comparable" caliber

2506 is a fantastic cartridge with a 120 gr bullet it will handle pretty much all game animals in BC I have a 25-06 Remington ks LH mountain rifle from the the custom shop, I have a 1-7 twist 24 inch ibi barrel on order with a 25 -6.5 PRC reamer , Iam so happy with the combination with a 1-10 twist barrel and accuracy out to 500 yards Iam in no rush to twist a new barrel on it just yet

You could...but then you'll be kicking yourself for not getting the 25-06 you wanted!

Rebarreling is expensive, but if it's exactly what you want in a rifle and will get used a lot, it's easier to justify the cost.

Many moons ago I searched high and low for a 700 Mountain Rifle in 257Roberts. I finally did find one but the elderly owner would not let it go nor did he even use it. Grrrr! Either way, I bit the bullet and asked Bevan King to put a 25cal bbl on an action and it went into a factory MR stock. Later I replaced the stock with a TI take off. I ended up spending a lot of money on the rifle with the bbl, refinish and two stocks but it has become a favourite and well worth the cost.

I've had a few guns built that did not get used and were later sold at a loss. Think hard on what you really want/need.

The plus side of spinning on a custom barrel is you get to pick the length and taper, plus you can get it with a faster twist so you can use the newer high BC 25cal stuff that a factory 25-06 won't stabilize.

Bevan definitely made some fine barrels! He is missed.
I have a few of his on my custom/semi custom rifles (on my 300 WSM, 338-06, 376 Steyr, 416 Taylor, and 250AI). All produce better than MOA, with most achieving 1/2 MOA accuracy!

I keep thinking I still want a LH Rem 700 in 25-06 to go with my 280 Rem and 338-06...and then I think about the 257 Roberts...still haven't decide which way I'll go...I do have dies, brass and bullets still for the Bob (just in case I ever find a BLR in this chambering).
Having fun with the 250 Savage! (My rebarreled Win Model 88 is producing groups of 0.209" @ 100 yards with the HSM 100 gr SGK ammo!)
And I have the 250AI...
