So far my short list, under 700$ retail, it'll be a do-it-all rifle from deer to moose to the poor gopher that will be at the wrong place at the wrong time if he shows up. I plan on shooting it when it's nice, when it's raining, when it snows and other fun conditions, it wont be a safe queen, it will get dinged and may not always get a super duper cleaning every time it'll shoot.

I got these 2 on the list, either i'm not searching right or there is really not alot of selection for south-paws.

Remington 700 SPS(I like heavy barrels)
Savage Weather Warrior(bonus for stainless)

Anything else worth looking at?

browning might make one, or you could get one of the m305b semi auto's from marstar just to throw a wrench into the gears.

Buy a good used firearm. I was on a gun shops site that I have purchased from before and they have a Remington BDL in .308 rated excellent that they are asking $650 for. PM me if you want the sellers name. I was interested but don't want to lose half of everything:).

Buying a used rifle isn't like buying a used car. However, if you're not planning on looking after it, buy the SS. More forgiving. Just remember that unless you buy a package rifle, it won't have sights.

Or you could look at leftie "friendly" guns that dont care which hand you favor.
I use a Savage 99c 308 which has a fairly solid mag and carries as nicely as my old 94 30-30. Pumps are good too. Check out the Browning as well as the Marlin Leverevolution stuff. Much fun to be had. Being left handed has not limited my purchases as much as you would think although I have a fondness for my 2 leftie CZs.
