Left Handed shooter....how compatible is the M14?

I'm a lefty and I've put 300 rounds through mine and I've also seen alot of people shoot Norinco M14's in general. Of every one I've seen they consistently throw the brass a lil forward and a few feet to the right. The only time I see different is when heavier 180 grain bullets are used. even then it wasn't a big deal. In that case the gas system should be turned off.

There is only 1 rifle in one situation I dread the ejected casing from. That is an SKS fired from a covered firing line. Those empty cases ricochet around like mad. They don't discriminate between lefty's or righty's

Troy Industries video gives you a good idea on brass direction.

John's words are 'bang on,' and if you've never seen a M14 (all models included) fired live, I'd suggest viewing the videos provided by Troy Industries. Forgive me if they've been mentioned already.

In the vid, the multiplie angles demonstrate the direction of the brass. One of the reasons I grabbed on of these beauties myself.

BTW, believe it or not, if you're a lefty and scared of brass, the last rifle you want is a G36. No need to drop $5k just to get new fillings!

Shoot the M14 with joy!
