Left Handed Shooter Options

I shoot rifles and shotguns right handed, but I shoot handguns left handed. Now last time I shot them I kept getting a face full of brass and wondering what options there are. Just suck it up?

I may be missing something here but when the pistol is properley presented out in front of you it's aligned with your body center. So at that point right or left handed is just a matter of which is your strong and support hands. So if you're getting hit in the face with the casings then it's due to a peculiarity of the pistol itself.

Is this with a new pistol? It may just be a little tight and needing breakin. Or if it's older and the slide or ejector is gummed up it may not be slinging the casings correctly or strongly enough.

It was a Glock at a shooting range in West Edmonton Mall, so a very well used handgun. One in three brass would land on top of my hand/face....

So this was just a gun problem? I never had this problem with a beretta I used but I only got to fire about 4 rounds from it.

The brass is just bouncing off the ceiling or whatever, don't be such a p*ssy.

I have shot Glocks before without a problem. If you had a screen between shooting lanes, or a low ceiling, it was probably deflecting off that.

I've bounced some brass off my forehead with spirited reloads, but the problem went away with a higher # spring.

I managed to pepper the girlfriend with brass the first time shooting. She thought 5 feet back and over was good.

Good call on the bouncing. Maybe if you go back again just assume the pose and aim at the backstop and then look at the casing instead. Or ask a buddy or range employee to see if it's bouncing back at you.

but i've had LOTS of experience with guys 2 FREAKING LANES OVER bouncing brass into my position- one instance the guy was shooting 2 lanes to the left and scratched my right lens on my glasses with brass-and i use a revolver

Well the range in West Ed mall has a low ceiling, small lanes, and pistols that are rarely cleaned (from what I heard). Like I said I never had a problem with the Beretta a friend owned but we were at an outside range.
