Left handed teenage boys rimfire rifle

I just want to know if any of these lefties have ever had a rifle shoot out of battery. We all do things based on our own ignorance which is fine. we should know better. Kids under our ignorance shouldn't be exposed to it.

I have:

10/22
C9 LMG

The rarity of this happening make it almost a non issue, yes it possible but not likely. Its like saying you don't go outside because you could get hit by a meteorite. Not to mention that most out of battery tends to be user error, home gunsmithing, poor reloading or poor firearm maintenance. All of which are easily avoided by not being lazy.

I'm a lefty as well and all my guns are right handed . The only ones I don't like as much are the bolts because it sucks to have to take my forward hand out of position to chamber a round .
I was looking at shotties today and didn't even think of asking for a lefty , lol . I guess I've always lived in a right hand world and accept guns that way . I just got used to wearing long sleeves for those hot casings that bounce off my right arm .

bolts are a bit of a pain being a lefty, but you get ust to it.. when I shot left handed guns it doesn't feel right. Better for him to get ust to shooting right handed guns, leftys are harder to come by and usually cost more...

I just picked up a remington 597, tvp and love it! Its comfortable for left and right handed shooters

Like, M39a2 said, left handed shooters should not have a problem shooting rifles with ejection ports on the right. I had a 10/22 and there were no problems either operating the cocking handle or spent brass. You will eventually find a 10/22 if you keep looking. Good luck.

In 35 years of shooting, I had this happen exactly once. It was with Imperial ammo about thirty years ago. We suspect accumulated carbon contributed to the firing pin being jammed in the foremost position and the cartridge was not fully chambered when it went off.

Ive had a few winchester 22lr rounds blow the case apart in bolt guns. Happened to both myself as well as right handed shooters using right handed guns. The same thing happens you get peppered with powder. Since I stopped shooting winchester ammo have never had this problem in the thousands of rounds shot

I have seen it twice in the same gun. I just don't think I would want to be shooting that gun left handed when it happened. You are right though when you consider the thousands of rounds of 22 shells we all shoot it isn't that common.
