I am right handed, but left eye dominant.... I refuse to shoot r/h rifles, I am so used to lefties now that I fumble while using a righty. if you shoot left you owe it to yourself to buy a left handed rifle.

If you are looking for L/H guns left me know I may be able to help you ,I have a new Tikka T3 in 338 federal it is great for a plastic gun and shoots clover leafs at a 100 yds but I do prefer wood and blue , just hate to bang them up hunting . I have always had left hand guns have shot everything but hunt with lefty`s , I used a No 1 Ruger for a few years it was great also you just had to be sure of the first shot . For L/H guns there are Savages , Remingtons , Sako , Tikka , Browning , Carl Gustaf smoothest action of all ,
and higher end rifles and customs .

Actually I find you can get some really good deals on lefties!Two years ago ! picked up really nice .300 Wea.Mk.5 with a 3-9 B&L Elite for $800.00.Then last month I picked up a M700KS Safari in .375H&H with 2.5x8VXlll At Epps in Ont. for just under $1500.00 Like new.My only beef is I wish the gunmakers would offer more options for left hand firearms and some accessaries.

Now that most major firearms companies make guns for lefties it is simply crazy for left handed shooters to use right handed guns. Browning makes semi auto rifles for lefties and Benelli makes semi auto shotguns for lefties; Remington makes a pump shot gun for lefties. Almost all major manufactures offer left handed bolt action rifles in a wide assortment of calibers and models. The classy Ruger #1 is great for lefties. I own 10 left handed guns and a Ruger No 1, I love them all. I do not and will not own any right handed guns. And let’s be clear; if the brass (or plastic) flies out the right side of the gun it’s a gun meant for a right handed person. Almost all left handed shooters who use left handed guns will become more proficient with them after nominal practice. There is a reason guns are offered in left and right handed versions. Don’t compromise; get guns that are designed for you!

Seems to me the main point is for the firearm to FIT the shooter. Hard to imagine that happening with a wrong-handed rifle. I own the usual assortment of leftie alternatives and a no 1 as well and a lovely Savage 99c but I got myself a 30-06 Ruger 77mk II leftie and it sure is sweet. I never owned a rightie bolt-just dont feel correct. It sure is a treat to shoot and I simply cannot imagine that reaching over the rifle is going to be better to shoot. As I see it also-if you are a leftie shooting rightie rifles and never tried one then why would your opinion matter in this thread? Get out and shoot one first and THEN tell me you dont like it. Cmon Supercub-yer missing out on this one. Git in while its still hot...LOL
I just wish you could find something like the Stevens Model 200 in left hand. It seems everything that is for a lefty is always the higher priced guns. Does anyone know a good source for used left handed bolt actoins? Looking for a 22-250.

Well now, does it have to be a bolt action? How about a Henry pump, or lever? How about single shots? Cmon man they are cheap too and a lot of lefties own them. Ruger No 1 -pretty classy act for sure but NEF makes almost nothing but single shot guns. Pretty much all of this is under $400 and some less than $300. I sold a Ruger 1022 and a Marlin lever 22 to pay for my leftie CZ452 and I figure I came out ahead. Thing is IMHO of course, that if you buy a cheap rifle you will spend money making it shoot or look like a better rifle anyways. At least the CZ I can just leave the way it is and go shoot the damn thing accurately. Do you want a cheap rifle or do you want an accurate rifle? You must decide eventually or like the rest of us sell it and buy something better. It is called working your way up. So go buy something cheap-single shots like lefties and some of them shoot real good. Also come in a variety of calibres. Just cuz it dont have a leftie bolt dont mean I am not going shooting. Screw that!
I'm a lefty. For all my hunting bolt actions I have LH bolts. They are set up properly for loading/unloading and follow up shots. But if I was having a benchrest rifle made it would be in a LH stock but the action would have to be RH. When I'm settled in behind a rifle on the bench I prefer to leave my trigger hand, left, on the pistol grip and do the loading with the right. I can also see into the action/chamber with a glance because it's open on the same side as my face.
I have a rem. 700 BDL 7mm rem mag in left hand, been shooting it for years now and buying a lefty was the best decision I made. There is no getting used to it cause everything comes natural. If you get a lefty you will be glad you made that decision too. Selling it wont be a problem later cause there is always a lefty out there looking to buy.
