I’m going to start a new thread rather than potentially hijack someone else’s. I’ve managed to trade my way into a vanguard compact/youth for my son to start hunting with. I’m leaning towards a detachable magazine kit for it, so it somewhat easier for me to keep his ammo organized in my pocket. Currently I keep all his ammo till required when we’re small game hunting, but he’s not too far from the point where I’ll start letting him keep a loaded magazine in while hunting. Does anybody on here have any experience with the legacy sports conversion? Ive heard of guys loosing magazines (has never happened to me) and am wondering if it’s an issue with these?

The only thing you need to watch for is the mag release, it’s at the front of the magwell and is easy to catch it on things. The mag slides in and out with ease so I could see it being lost easily. Other than that they work fine.

Just very expensive for cheap plastic parts...I tried one for a bit, but as mentioned the mag release is in a terrible spot, I sold it and went back to the hinged plate.
