What is the shortest you can make a Ruger 10/22 barrel and be non restricted on a rifle? Who makes heavy barrels in the shortest configuration? Thanks for any and all help,

This has been discussed many times on here.Do as search and you will get alot of info.
Basicaly you can have it as short as you want as long as the over all length of firearm is over 26 inches.
I curantly have a 10 inch barel on mine and my overal length is 29 inches so i could go shorter if i want.Bits and pieces can make you any length of barel or you could look for a charger or krinker barel. They come up for sale occasionaly on here.

Would some of you who own short barrelled 10/22's please post some pics and details ... thanks CGNer's,

i think a 11" works on mine, with an AR 15 stock, to be a bit over 26".... all depends on the stock. see Fabsports up top, he is a sponsor and has various lengths.

This is my 1022 with my Thompson conversion kit and it has a 10" barrel. Overall length is 29" so its non restricted.

Fabsports has some 10" barrels in their 1022 section. They are sold out of the finned barrels but their tapered 10" barrels I beleive are still in stock and they are a VERY nice barrel. Just make sure you stay over 26" overall length and you will be fine. Btw, folding stocks won't cut it as they measure the length with the stock in the shortest position and you will always end up too short to stay non restricted.

That Thompson conversation is sweeeet! :D

Moparlover, I like the 556 kit ... would like to build a full length barrelled 10/22 on one of those!

I have a Butler Creek folding stock that I want to build a 10/22 on but with the shortest allowed barrel length ... hence why I started this thread.

Keep the pictures, idea's coming my fellow CGNer's ... cheers,
