Before i invest heavily into IPDA, i was wondering if a few of you more experienced guys can answer a few of my questions.
I just purchased a G17 Gen 4 and installed a lighter striker spring for a light light trigger pull.
I know IDPA is only of those competitions based on technique and not the equipment.
I checked the approved firearms list and i came across this:
Excluded Modifications
The following modifications are not allowed in any of the above-listed equipment divisions
A.Compensators of any type, including hybrid or ported barrels.
B.Add-on weights for a competitive advantage. This includes, but is not limited to weighted magazines or grips, tungsten guide rods, and brass magazine wells or grip plugs.
C.Heavy and/or cone style barrels without a barrel bushing (Exception: Permitted in ESP & CDP divisions only if the barrel is factory-issue and is 4.2" or shorter).
D.Sights of non-standard configuration (e.g. Ghost rings, Bo-Mar rib, red-dot sights, laser-grips, etc.).
E.Disconnection or disabling of any safety device on any gun.
F.Lights mounted on guns.
I dont see anything that states i cant alter the trigger of the gun. Would changing the trigger pull of my glock be ok?
On the other hand, i know for IPSC, they check the trigger pull of ur guns, ammo and basically all ur equipment before you compete.
