the reg card will say what? rem 870 with barrel < 470mm? that doesn't prove anything. that is the same card as a full stocked 18" barrel one.

how much info is actually held in the FRT? if it just says "rem 870 with 8.5" barrel" that still doesn't help. if it says "rem 870 with 8.5" barrel, pistol grip only, no stock, OAL 17." then I'd fell better.

I'd be curious to see the entire definition in the FRT, that would be available to law enforcement.

beat me to it...

I'll chrono it at 15m for you this weekend :) Any slug in particular?

I am comfortable enough with my group size (2 3/4" 3 rounds at 25m) and POI is good as long as I get right down on the front blade.

BUT I will video it just in case I blow up the chrony! ;)

Ike. You rock. I just buy cheap winchester slugs. But use whatever you like. If you find good results with one over another thats a good tip.

Post the vids though, thats going to be pretty sweet I bet.

I'll contribute a few bucks to the pool if you do destroy your chrony.

If a few people chime in likewise you should be covered.

I'm soooo tired of all the nay sayers out there who can't there thick heads around this. Don't feel good or have doubts fine, don't buy one. Feel the need to pick apart the legality of a product that a Dealer is selling legally on this forum is another thing. For what purpose to our community? Does it make you feel powerful and important? At what cost? I've said my peace and it obviously does not get through to some people. :puke:

As far as the FRT listing is concerned, perhaps someone with access to the online version could post it. It is obviously too new to be on any discs in circulation. It would be interesting to see it.
Obviously, this firearm has been classified as non-restricted. This is a non-issue.

Agreed, thanks.

No worries, it's borrowed :)

tell that to everyone that bought a non restricted walther G22.

Bingo. My first thought as well...

I'm sorry but some others are going to have tor run them for a while before I take the plunge. What can I say, I don't really trust the CFC or the RCMP techs will not change their minds down the road.

I already have an 870 with a folder that measures 664 mm OA and a good pack it fits in with just the pistol grip sticking up over my shoulder. I'll make do with that for now. One of those 8.5" ones would be sweet though....

Always so much pettiness when someone tries to do something innovative...

Don't they have a picture of it for the FRT?

Even if they don't, it's been all over CGN for at least a week. You think the feds don't know about it???

How about the guys that are so concerned about it- Not buy one?

If I was asked... I'd say everyone who can afford it should buy one of these from Dlask. It's a great way to support and help advance a Canadian firearms company that has been persistent with their push to score points for our side.

I've no doubt the legalities have been searched and overcome as there's clearly a FRT number issued. So what's the problem guys?

I'm not convinced I need one, but I will buy one if not more than to increase the numbers in the hands of licenced firearms owners, to support an innovative company and to own more cool toys to raise hairs on liberal napes.

If you don't want one of these guns, buy one anyway. You can always sell it later. For now what matters is that Dlask produces and sells as many as they can put out.

... but nobody asked me so I'll just say...

Good work Joe! Keep on keepin' on.

I want to see a tactical drop leg holster made for these. :)
Sorry if this is a thread jack, but I just had to mention it.

What are you on CRACK?

YES there is one SOLID ruling from the HEAD of the FRT divison of the RCMP FIREMARMS CENTER. Have you not been listening? This gun is being LEGALLY manufactured as we speak and will be distributed widely across Canada. The DLASK SMD 8.5" 870 is NON-RESTRICTED without question. Give your head a shake. This is unbelievable what the hell is wrong with some CGN'ers?

whats unbelieveable is your general attitude about questions. If it's so bloody legal, why are you freaking out every time anyone questions it? I'm very glad Dlask is making these, and I'd like to get one sometime soon. either way I'm unimpressed that you cant post in a civilized manner like everyone else here.

holy crap ponts, relax. theres nothing wrong with people researching this for themselves, there is no solid rule that its legal yet (but at the same time, no solid rule its not, and its been authorized to some extent by the RCMP which makes it legal as far as we know).

Let me remind you newbie of this post of yours. And I quote "there is no solid rule it is legal yet" :bsFlag: That is blantantly false. Thus very upsetting.

sorry, I wasnt aware there was an FRT# for it as a firearm manufactured by dlask. very upsetting indeed, holy crap. dont ever call me a newbie again, I really dont think flaming makes you look too great, wether or not youve got more posts than me. as if a post count is worth anything.

yeah, if they've issued an frt and they're transfering it verified in it's current config, i'd have to say this particular firearm is legal.

Flaming you? Nope. Just reminding you that I see you are new here and that you should research before you post. As it is tiring to see new people here making false statements. ;)

Just a hint when posting to a thread try to read ALL of the previous posts in the thread BEFORE making comment. I am only bringing this up as you have apparently missed the VERY FIRST POST in the other thread about the Dlask shotgun. If you had read it (before posting in it) you would have noticed the FRT # right below the pretty pictures:rolleyes: Please note this is not flaming just some helpful advise:D and yes you are a newbie.........says so right below your "handle":D

hey NEWBIE, when you have been with CGN as long as guys like myself and ponts , we get a little pissy when newbies start fighting with us when we post somthing, maybe thats wrong who knows , but a little respect when your a new guest in the house, some of us helped build what CGN is today, dont need anymore trolls, so dont push it.
Theres a very good chance as i have known ponts for years, that if he says Dlasks shotgun is "good to go" then it is!
bbb

I'm pretty sure that questioning new laws or firearm-related legal specifics and defending my curiousity is neither fighting nor trolling. I'm gonna leave it at that, as I'm very aware you guys know a hell of a lot more about the system than I do, I was really just unsure of how solid the whole thing with that mini-shotty was. I am very glad this forum isnt full of ignorant posters :)
