Generally speaking it is legal. Explosives Laws dictate storage and quantity .
Kn03 can be found at certain hydroponic stores. Sulfur at garden centers .
You will need charcoal , don't use briquets........
It can be touchy stuff , dont' be making any in a condo or townhouse.....

it has been a while since I read the explosives act, but as I understood you couldn't do it without being a "magazine", if you do know of the exact place it says you can, I am all ears, and any info helps.Generally speaking it is legal. Explosives Laws dictate storage and quantity .

Has nothing to do with legality. It has to do with liability. I think its because CGN does not want to be held responsible because some twit blew himself up. I'm not a Mod or Admin, so my opinion means nothing. I was just putting it out there for consideration.

Haven't looked at the act for years , storage of explosives has it's rules built around quantity. Buying a pound at your dealer doesn't require you to build a magazine . Local by-laws could also be looked at as some towns and fire depts MAY have a say in storage .
I usually keep 5 or so pounds in my gun room. To be honest I have not looked into my local ordinances and don't intend to stir the pot.
Manufacturing a "pound" .......well , best to read the act if your concerned.
Good luck finding any valuable info on that site that pertains to original post .

6. Except as authorized under this Act and subject to such exemptions as may be provided by regulation, no person shall
(a) make or manufacture explosives either wholly or in part except in a licensed factory;
(b) sell any authorized explosive unless that person is the operator of a licensed factory or licensed magazine and is authorized to sell explosives;
(c) store any explosive in a magazine that is not a licensed magazine;
(d) have in his possession any explosive; or
(e) carry on, except in a licensed factory, any of the following processes, namely,
(i) dividing into its component parts, or otherwise breaking up or unmaking, any explosive,
(ii) making fit for use any damaged explosive, or
(iii) remaking, altering or repairing any explosive
So from a liabilty standpoint I'm locking this thread.
