Hi All,

Can anyone please point me to the relevant legislation that says there is no limit on magazine capacity for a pump action shotgun?

I want to buy a Knoxx Sidewinder Drum kit:

It is not in the Firearms Act, but in another section of the criminal code. The information is summarized in the FA Safety text, and essentially says that non restricted semi-automatic centre fire firearms are limited to 5 round magazine capacity while semi-automatic centre fire handguns are limited to 10 round magazine capacity. Call up the CFC and ask to be provided with chapter and verse, better still ask them to mail it to you. Help drive up the cost of this dinosaur.

There is nothing that specifically says they are legal or illegal.

If it doens't say it's illegal- it's not;)

(Essentially, there is no specified mag capacity for manual repeating unrestricted)

Excuse the huge post. What I think you are interested in are the definition of "prohibited devices", while the authority to define these things comes from the criminal code, the Governor-in-council lists the devices in regulations. I'm posting the most relevant provisions that were formerely under the "Cartrige Magazine Control Regulations". If it does not fall under this list (be sure to check the regulation for the complete list) it is not a prohibited device. This is the same list that allows M-1 rifles to keep their 8 round capacity.
