legend or 3200?

im looking for a 4-12 or 5-15 for my 22-250 but cant decide if the 3200 is worth the extra money or not. ill be using it for 99% hunting and 1% target shooting so i do not need the best clarity. will the legend hold zero just like the 3200?

one thing ive noticed on one of my banners is if i change the elevation for longer shots the zero is off when i turn it back to normal. is this an issue with the legend?

I have both a 3200 on a 300 win mag and a legend on a .243 and 30-06 at 5-15. I have a hard time telling the difference between the two in terms of clarity. If you have a 22-250 it sounds like you are going to be shooting farther distances (200+yrd)?

If you were going to spend the extra money I wouldn't consider anything less than the 6500. The Legend is really a great economy scope, I've got two mounted on two steven's.

I haven't tried the 'back to zero test' because I have had success with use of the Mildots that are very accurate.

The legend should be able to handle the 22-250. Had a couple on my guns they all seem to work really well for the price. Like Matty I use the Mildots so I could not tell you about the back to zero test.

I don't fuss with my scopes once they are on, the 6500 will let you click it all over the place and as long as you click it back the same amount of times it will be dead nuts on.
I have a legend on my .17 HMR and am very happy with it, it is certainly not from the Elite line but it does a fine job at everything I ask it to do.
You gain other stuff when you go up a notch to the Elite line, like RainGuard, as a hunter you will appreciate that more than you could possibly imagine. Also, I think there is a difference in optics, but that is subjective, you need to see it with your own eyes.
For hunting you will be very happy with the scope you are considering for the intention of hunting.
I live 15 minutes from you, you are welcome to come here and do a comparison between a few of the scopes mentioned here, I have a small range here at home.
Oh, and bring your bow too.

I have a Legend 4-12x40 on a 223 I hunt with, no complaints great scope for the money accuracy has never been an issue. I also have a Legend 2-7x32 on a 450 marlin and it holds zero under that much recoil very happy with them.
