Hi, I didn't enter this year, but am interested in going to MU 6-15 for Moose next year (friend's place in Terrace).

I have tried to work out whether the LEH means that the whole of MU 6-15 is subject to limited entry or whether only part of that area is limited.

There is a map : h t t p s://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/sp...ose_6-15_a.pdf

It takes forever to load, and it didn't help as far as I could tell to answer this question.

If someone has experience of that area, any pointers would be appreciated.

this years LEH has an opening in Zone A of MU 6-15 and that is the only part of the MU open for that hunt. Not the entire MU, just Zone A.

Thank you, apologies for the next newbie question : how do I identify Zone A ?

I've looked here :

and here :

still not fully clear to me where the delineation is found inside the MU.

From the second map, it seems that most of MU 6 - 15 is designated for this purpose and only the North and North Western parts are outside the scope of the LEH.

ya on page 24 of the limited entry synopsis there is a map showing the LEH moose zone A of 6-15. I think there are places one can get more detailed maps for each area but don't have any links handy.

If you zoom in on the map on page 24, you will see that the boundary on the one side is marked as "height of land" so I assume there is a ridge line all down the northern edge. The southern edge is clearly defined as the skeena river. So everything in between Height of land to the north and west and the river to the south is the open area. There is also a no shooting area around terrace and possibly other small areas within the open area.

never worry about asking questions, folks around here are generally pretty helpful with the new hunters.

Here is the LEH Synopsis

As mentioned by 45ACPKING, look on page 24 of the LEH synopsis. 6-15A basic area is identified there in Map 6L) Smithers - Moose

Once you have the general idea of the area use the second map you linked above - moose_6-15_a.pdf. Not sure why they say it is 6.9MB when it is 37MB...

Thanks very much, and the LEH Synopsis, Page 24 really helps to put the other map into context, I now have a clearer picture.
