Thanks for all your comments on the options out there to the Leica CRF 1200. After looking at the issue, I think I will save my pennies and go for the Leica CRF1200 as the Cdn dollar approaches par. Looks like I won't be disappointed.

I got a reading on a coyote at 942 yards the other day with the LRF1200, and I've ranged hillsides past 1300 before, as well.

I have one as well and the only problem that I have found is that when it get super cold, it doesn't work. The screen just flashes. Other then that, it's awesome.

What is super cold? -50c?

well, i had it around my neck out quadding during late season bow. So, with the outside temp and the windchill from me driving.... probably somewhere around -20.

Yea. Especially when you are trying to range a deer, and it doesn't work.
