Well I just picked one up. Second owner in excellent condition.I've read some threads on the rangefinder, however most of it is a comparison between other models. I'd like to hear from owners, overall performance? good "bang" for the buck?. I'll be using in for hunting, coyotes etc, and some long range target shooting stuff.

My 1200 was a worth-while upgrade over the 900, but still doesn't touch the Swarovski. I've since gone the Geo-vid route, both regular and HD, without regrets. It doesn't match the Swaro as a rangefinder either, but as a hunting tool it's where it's at.:)

I picked up a Lecia 1200 SCAN for $350, its about a year old with one owner. Wondering if I got a "deal" or not. Most if not all the reviews for Lecia are positive.BTW whats the difference, if any between the LRF and the "SCAN" models?

You got a good deal. The difference between the scan and regular is that if you hold down the button it will continually range until you let it go. This can be useful on moving objects or when you are not holding that steady. All this is assumeing that you actually remember the function is there, which is something I usually forget about.
