I just bought one of these new HD Bushnell Legends. 3-9x40 SF
I paid 219.99 no tax, Gagnons had a in store no tax sale.
I then sent in a 50.00 rebate card to Bushnell. In the end i paid 169.99.
For the money I love this scope. I'm a guy who owns mostly Vari-XIII , VX III and a few newer VX-3, the odd VX-II also a VX-R 1.5-4 Firedot. Love Leupold but for the money this new legend rocks! I love the side focus. I will go buy another one before the rebate sale ends.....Check them out and see for yourself. Although not up to par with the Leupold VXIII..... Legend HD scopes are great value for the money... Any one of you gunnutz buy one as well..? Oh ! I don't work for Leupold or Bushnell....w:h:

My buddy just bought the savage trophy hunter package in 22-250 today and upgraded the scope to a legend 4.5-14 with mil dot reticle. Looks like a nice piece of glass and the rainguard should be useful for yote hunting on those wintery days.
 
Looking at a cost standpoint this new Legend HD is hard to beat.
219.00 + taxes _ less the 50.00 mail in rebate. If you can find a store with a no tax sale & save a little more.
 
Turn it over and take a look on the bottom where they are made now.....
Sail has them for $199 tax in, + the $50 rebate.
Legend use to be a good scope.

I did not look at where it was made.
My boy wanted a scope for his rifle so we went to Sail store.
He bought the legend and I really can't believe how clear this scope is for the $ I also looked through it as it was getting dark and it did just as well as most of my upper line scopes....Just sayin. :cheers:
I did not look where it was made sorry Hitzy. Next time I will look where the scope is made before i buy...LOL!

They make them in China now, not a good thing, use to be made in the Phillipines. Definitely a downgrade of what they use to be. Light transmission use to be 91%, now its 89%. The Trophy line is now a better scope then the Legend line....
 
Forget about where it is made and go look through one of the new Legend HD.
As said before. I own at least 15 Leupolds VXIII, VII a new VX-R , 2 Burris Black diamond also three 4200 series. I'm just saying for the $ the lengend is a great buy even though it's made in china. I bet the hat on you head is made in china but you still wear it.
Anyways, Not saying a 500.00 + quality scope but it's great value for the $.
Look at the 3-9X40 SIDE FOCUS MODEL when you get a chance and see for yourself.
I find it hard to buy a scope by looking at it's stats on a chart on the computer..I like to look out side in different light conditions and make up my own mind...For the $ as far as clear and low light conditions it does a great job for the $.

Played with them at sail, not very impressed compared to the discontinued version. Nothing made in China is a good buy.....Redfield is made in USA, similar price, owned by Leopold, that would be a good buy.....

Alot of good light variation at the Sail store?
Anyways! If i could buy a Leupold for 150.00 yes that would be a great buy.
Key word is would.
