Length of ATT/transfer?

I am just at the end of that process, they told me 7-10 days as well and they wouldn't even know if they got my fax until then. That was on Thursday that I had applied for the ATT (started the restricted transfer on Wednesday) and they told me today that it was approved yesterday. So that was only 4 working days, so hopefully its shorter for you too!

Cool, thanks for the info. Did you get to pick up your gun today/yesterday?

Yep, I'm in the lower mainland. I purchased from Reliable.

I also managed to get through to the CFO; the lady was SUPER nice and very helpful - she even offered to email me a copy of my LTATT.

Now I just have to wait for the registration certificate to show up in the mail. C'mon, Canada Post!

If my memory serves me correct (from when I purchased my 9mm) the store contacted the CFO and dealt with the transfer and started the process for the STATT. I left it at the store and called the next day but the store hadn't heard back yet so I called the CFO. It seems the transfer has to go thru Marimahi branch and they sat on it, so it is worth making a call if you dont hear back in a day. The CFO is more that happy to fax or email you the paperwork when ready. My experience with dealing with SK CFO branch has been nothing but awesome ... everytime. I would be surprised if the CFO doesnt contact you, for they wanted to when I would be making the transfer ...ie date and approx time.

The reference number is supplied by the store (for they get from the CFO at time of sale) and I believe it is the reference number for the transfer of firearm...from the store to the purchaser ... but I could be wrong. It is helpful to have that nyumber when you call the CFO, and the store should've given to you.

I purchased an Armalite M15T from Wolverine last week and they mailed it to me with a scheduled delivery of Monday March 12th. On Friday, March 9th I emailed CFC Winnipeg requesting an ATT , and they E-mailed it back to me within 20 minutes. I printed it off and
got my gun from the local Post Office as scheduled. On Tuesday I received my long term ATT in the mail. Now thats what I call superior customer service. I can't believe the lengthy wait time and poor service other Povinces have.

Yeah, see the problem with BC is you have to have a long term ATT in place before they will transfer a restricted firearm to you... apparently 2 month long application to receive an RPAL isn't enough of a wait.

If you ask me that is ridiculous

so i called miramichi today to see what was up, and she said the trasfer had been started and was with the CFO, but apparently they mailed something out to me??? So she tried to transfer me but i eventually just got the answering machine for the CFO. tried calling back and no luck.

grrrr.

another update to this:

I just received a rather large letter in the mail telling me my transfer cannot be completed untill I fill out and mail in an LTATT application!!??

I already FAXED it in when i bought the gun at the dealer! I dont get it. I've been trying to get through to the CFO but im just on hold for 10 minutes then it goes to voicemail.

I di the ATT application over the phone but I still had to fax a copy of my range membership because they like to see proof of membership. I had done a sale on the EE so I'm waiting for it to arrive but I got my ATT yesterday in the mail.

Just keep trying to get through to the CFO. It goes to voice mail just under 5 min, and the extension is 9530 if you didn't have it so you don't keep having to wait to get transfered through the main number.

yeah, i faxed a copy of my range membership as the same time when i bought the gun from the dealer. i've supplied them with everything they need so either:

A: they lost my LTATT application or;

B: they havent even looked at it yet

grrr

Similar thing happened to me (they sent mailed me an applcation, and the collectors application). In the end I called them, got a really nice lady who let me email her the proof of membership (.PDF from silvercore). The statt and ltatt (which she emailed to me) were issued the same day.

Just keep plugging away. One thing I got out of all of this was a better handle on 'patience'. The process sucks, and one day maybe we will get it changed, but for now, don't burst a blood vessel ;) and just wait for your firearm.

And some more waiting is waiting for you once you're finished waiting.

I have a STATT, the firearm, the LTATT, and now I have to wait for the registration certificate until I can actually go to the range. CFC said "up to 4 weeks" when I called to inquire if there was any way to get an electronic copy (to which the answer was "no")

your short term att is your temp registration so you can take your gun to the range rightaway. The official reg will come later and it will then replace your statt

The STATT permits transport from the dealer to my home address. I have also received my LTTATT which has a condition stating I must have the r. egistration certificate for the firearm.

I didn't think the STATT was good for anything other than getting the gun home.

I'm at work so I can't look at my stack of short term att's. But does the STATT state that the certificate must be with your firearm?

No - my STATT has the registration certificate number of the gun listed on it, and in addtion to what I gather are the standard, the conditions state:

- From: <Dealers name at dealer's address>
- To: <Me at my address>
- Frequency of Transport: - one time request.

No - my STATT has the registration certificate number of the gun listed on it

Statt isn’t enough to transport ur gun to the range as its only good for one time transport within 30 days from issue and only from the seller to the buyer’s house. However it also serves as a registration certificate till the original is mailed and together with ltatt is enough to legally take your guns to the range

im still waiting for this LTATT/transfer to be approved.

i cant understand what the hold up is?? i've sent them everything they require. How hard can it be to look at the papers and approve it??

I bought a Glock through a private sale have been wating for more than a week, every time I try to call them I get the same thing get put on hold for 15 minutes and then the answering machine pics it up and tells me they are experiencing a high volume of calls bla bla. So still waiting
