Length of Pull (LOP) Can it Be Shortened?

Hello Everyone,

I have noticed on several older pump shotguns that the Length of pull is very long (for myself). An example of this, is the Winchester Model 12, where I found that to comfortably hold the shotgun, I had to hold it behind the fully forward slide. Is there a way to shorten this length, save cutting down the buttstock? Is this what is referred to as LOP?

LOP is the distance from the trigger (front if 2) to the center of the butt plate.

The only way to reduce is to cut stock or swap to thinner pad.

I do not think length of pull is what you are talking about. I think you are talking about the place on the forestock where you place your non trigger hand. I think that the small forend wood on field model 12 guns does at times make the forend hold uncomfortable for some. Target m-12s have longer wood on the forend slide which allows one to place their hand further back.

The only way I know, would be to install another fore stock.
