Would it be possible to lengthen an sks firing pin? I am currently building an aluminum "lower" with an ar15 trigger group for my sks and the hammer stops about 50 thousandths away from a fully bottomed out firing pin.

My options are:
Add material to the hammer face.
Add material to the back of the firing pin.
Remove material from the sks receiver so the hammer stops closer.

The issue with removing material would be that the hammer would then stop at about an 85 degree angle rather than 90 degrees as it is now. Also I would then be weakening the receiver which at this point is basically still factory.

Another question I have is do I have to worry about punctured primers if my hammer is fully "seating" my firing pin? I will check an original sks to see if the firing pin fully "seats" when the hammer drops to compare.

I have used an ar15 trigger in another sks but I welded material to the hammer face without hardening It and have noticed a lot of damage to the softened metal.
