So I am in the market for a high end spotting scope and was contemplating the Mk 4 60 mm Mildot scope from Leopold. I was in Elwood Epps today and besides dropping 500 on lapua brass, I was tempted to buy the Mk4 they had there was it not for the fact that the one he brought out on the counter looked like it had just returned from Afghanistan. As a matter of fact, all three high end leopold scopes he brought out on the counter looked like they had been there for a few years. I don't know what's up with EE these days but they missed out on a sale just because the attendant didn't even take the time to clean off the box or open the case. Talk about bad customer service. But that is not the point of this rant. Does anybody have any experience with this particular scope. How effective is the mildot ranging reticle? What about the fact that it is a straight scope. Any substitutions that are recommended instead of the leopold. And is it really worth the money?
