Picking up an ARMS 18 for my standard length Norc.

I have a 25 year old Leopold Vari - X III 3.5 X 10 sitting around since I sold a bolt gun a couple of years ago.

I figure a loopy can handle the recoil/shake/rattle/roll.

Anybody put something like this on a Norc or M1A??

Ring suggestions would be appreciated as well.

Go for it!

My Norc wears a Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40mm LR/T with M2 dials and Illuminated TMR.
It's in LOW wire EDM rings from SEI and it sits on a CASM from M14.ca.

If you actually have a Leopold on your rifle, I'd be worried.:) Apparently some counterfeits out there bearing that name.

Sorry to Hijack a bit. What would constitute good rings? I'm planning on mounting a scope of the CASM mount and need guidance on rings.

I'd like to see some of these leupolds on your M14 type rifles please. I once had a 3-9x40 leupold on my ROCHELLE and it worked excellent.

I have Arms 22 on 2 different scopes and they certainly hold zero. My M14 currently has a Leupold mk4 3.5-10 LR/T in Arms 22 rings on an Arms 18, couldn't be more satisfied...

Ask and ye shall receive...

Mark 4 LR/T 4.5-14x50mm with TMR reticle in low ARMS 22 rings on an ARMS 18 mount.

You can't tell from the pictures but the scope does clear the rear sight aperture. I can quickly remove the scope and use irons if need be.

sgmacken thank you for posting that and letting me know a set of LOW rings is good to go and clear the rear irons ... awesome thank you,

Your results may vary, depending on the model of scope you use and where your eye wants the scope. Good luck!

Looking at your choice of scope and the front and rear I know the type of scope I'm looking at is narrower then the one you have mounted so I believe a set of LOW rings will work on my build. Cheers,

p.s. very nice rugbydave ... quick question ... how do you like the muzzle brake on yours?

Worst case scenario, the old scope doesn't hold up, you get a brand new VX-III thanks to the warranty, and you have a brand new one which will be no problem, and it's just an upgrade. I like the leupold qrw rings if you want the quick detach option.
