Leopold spotting scopes in comparison to other brands

How often are you going to use it?
what scopes do you use on your rifles?
Me, I would go with the Leupold because I use them on my rifles.
Works for me, being a fan boy and all.
Amount of use and how deep or shallow ones pocket book is.

The Golden Ring and Mark 4 lines are excellent. The Golden Ring line of spotting scopes and binos are gone, but they turn up on the Exchange threads. The latest spotting scopes from Leupold are on par with the junk from vortex and bushnell.

how far are you spotting? That will make a huge difference in what you need. Spotting rounds on paper at 300m will cost you. Take a look on the 'birding' sites, see what they like... check 'Pelee wings'

Leupold still produces the Gold Ring and Mark 4 line in house in Oregon. The SX series are produced overseas and are designed to offer a price point/feature set comparable to other products in the market. All spotters carry the same lifetime guarantee.

Good to know. I thought they were discontinued.

What model Leupold spotter are you talking about? Need to compare apples to apples. Like every manufacturer, Leupold makes low end products and high end. Figure out your need in that range and then compare to other scopes of the same price range/ features.

Have you seen any counterfeit Leopold spotters?

Used my leupold Mark 4 spotter for looking at Jupiter’s moons and Saturn’s rings. Works well for bullet holes at up to 300 meters depending on conditions and target design
