Had this old girl for 20 plus years now, everyone loves how light it is and how fun it is to shoot. I love the all metal sliding stock and old school hardware, the scope is just a clone.

Love your guns Bartok5

That "shortie" of yours is truly awesome! I can only imagine how much fun it must be to fire. My Troy is a real treat due to the light weight and fast-handling. I added á Geissele trigger which really improves the handling! All of my other ARs are either stock or configured how I ran them overseas (less the "fun switch"). I never messed with the internals of my service weapons - bolt-on enhancement parts only was the rule of thumb in my unit. The unit provided the Troy RIS that I ran in 2008 on my C8 FTHB, along great with a PEQ2A Laser Aiming Device in lieu of the Green Laserlyte. I went with my personal Trijicon 1-4X optic rather than the issued Elcan magnified optic or the Eotech Reflex Sight.

Hi, I got my stock out of the states. 650us and 7 month wait. Its a true threaded pin on and I opted for a Delron buffer like the originals. Check out MattR on YouTube. The only problem was he stopped responding to emails the second he found out I was Canadian :(

Bartok5 you are right. This thing points like my arm. Its by far my lightest rifle and while I had it out for pictures I was saying to the wifey it’s a shame I can’t use it for Cyotes. It would be awesome to pack around. I been debating a colt 3x20 scope for one of my retro rifles. I love the Troy comemerative rifles, it’s too bad some Mountie feels more threatened by the markings. Now I just have to re-profile a few lowers and I’ll be a happy man.

Where did you score your 607 stock?

There was someone selling 3 stocks, one if I recall, looks like the one you asking about on the EE, & 2 other Older ones. I saw it on the weekend- Im looking for parts for a 20" build. I was told I can order a Retro kit from Brownells, but if anyone has the Triangle hand guards, end cap, grip & stock etc available, plz let me know.. Cheerz!

The short one you saw was a fixed stock, not a bad stand in, but the real 607 buttstock was a lever on the plate that lets it extend like other carbine stocks.

Yea, i was in contact with MattR at the beginning of last year as well, he no longer ships to Canada but will ship to an exporter. At the time i couldn't justify the cost and the 9mth wait i was quoted.

Will a norinco accept the brown brownells or any other vietnam style furniture. I really like that look.

The answer to that is Yes, and NO. Once you replace the Norinco forward (Round) handguard retainer with an American triangular one, then yes. Beware, the 600lb Chinese guy with the 20lb sledge hammer that put the taperpins in the front sight housing did not want them to come out, they are tougher than any north american pins I've ever removed to punch out but it can be done.

curious here what would a set of original triangular handguards, strait colt grey delta ring sand triangular end caps be worth?

New versions of the Straight Slip-Ring and Triangular End-Cap are available at a reasonable price through True North Arms and/or Brownells. Now that the Brownells' quality reproduction Triangular Handguards are also available for $39.99 USD, the value of originals (even in excellent condition), has dropped considerably. I'd put the value of genuine, vintage Triangular Handguards in Like New condition at no more than $75 CAD, but that's just me - I don't much care about "genuine" subcontractor-marked retro parts.
