Let my friend shoot the 300 Win Mag - Funny

It's perfectly normal for someone not knowing what to expect to do that. Now that he has shot, he will improve with each succeeding shot. He will not be permantly scared or a flincher for the rest of his life. It's part of the learning process. Remember learning stick shift? Now that was funny!:D

For some it's funny because we've all gone through something similar when we started and we can identify with the shooter. Some of you should just lighten up some.;)

Exactly! Like I said he took a couple more shots and did much better. :D

It's still OK to laugh, I posted the first time I shot this gun or really any big gun for that matter and I got a chuckle out of you guys already. :D

I really wish those "holier than thou" types would just shut their traps for a change. It's almost like you don't want people to have fun with guns. Lighten the hell up FFS. My brother and I have a lot of fun watching each other shoot 3" 12ga. slugs from a 14" 870, it hurts like hell but all in good fun. Same thing with the first hot loads out of my Freedom Arms, can't help but laugh watching a serious flinch develop, better yet handing it to him with an empty chamber after a couple rounds.......FLINCH....click. :D

Here's my reaction the first time I took a shot with it. Couldn't even wait for my scope!

You're having too much fun shooting. This isn't a joke, shooting is serious business, no smiling, no laughing, no fooling around. Someone could get hurt with that attitude. Grow up. Now go sit in the corner and think about what you did.:stirthepot2:

Never thought of it before, but putting a video camera behind you as you shoot and replaying it in slow motion might be a valuable training aid. Could identify some issues that you didn't know about...

Look at that something good came from this thread. :D

Actually methinks a section for instructional gun and shooting vids would be a good idea here on Gun Nuts. :)

I know, what a party pooper! :)

A while back I was reading about a camera meant for mounting to stuff, they had it hook up to a gun. A little bigger than a D-cell battery. I think it would be better use for more dynamic shooting where movement is involved. Long range stuff ammount to very small movements that I don't think would show up very easily, unless of course you "bail-flinch".

Better yet a couple of duds then have a bud drop the rounds one by one in your action. There is no hiding a fail here and having it on video would be great for a few laughs. :p

Pretty much how I taught my buddies and son how to shoot....Lots of laughs make it even more fun.

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye! lol :D

Beside you works well too. This was the first time I took the rifle to the range and shot through the scope. I taped myself so I could see if I was doing anything wrong or weird.
