I am going to be attending LCC next september but I dont want to stop shooting trap. Is there a trap range near the collage? or anything of the sorts?

Cheers,
Kieran

When I last attended LCC (back in '88 - stop laughing), there was a shooting range in the river valley.

PM Pharaoh2 (sp?), he is from that area, and might be better suited to help out.

The Lethbridge Fish & Game Association has one of the best ranges I've ever shot at and it has full trap and skeet facilities. Check out their website.

Skeet seems to be more popular with the club and they frequently shoot trap between rounds on the weekends.

Use of the equipment is limitted to club members and arrangements would need to be made in advance. It's not a drop in and shoot some trap setup, but there's also archery, 400m rifle, and several pistol ranges for use.

I don't see a lot of trap shooters during the winter, but there are lots in the summer and fall.

Where is the Lethbridge gun club? I hope it is out of the wind that the Crowsnest pass generates. The last time I worked in Lethbridge in February, the leftover Christmas trees were flying down the streets like cruise missiles.
Please don't take this as an insult. I am just wondering.

Cheers,
Russell from Edmonton

the lethbridge F&G range is located on the north side of the city in the river valley. it is definately not protected from the chinook winds. i have seen targets and steel blow over from the wind.

I don't shoot trap/skeet. Been thinking about it, never got off my butt  .
There used to be a trap club just north-west of the airport. Does anyone know if it's still in operation?

Anyone who is interested in Shooting Trap or Skeet in Lethbridge should feel free to contact mad@huckvale.ca She is the Range Steward for Range 6 (trap, skeet, sporting clays). The wind is not too bad down at the range most days. :) But really, if you can't hit that slow moving clay in the wind how are you going to bag the low-fast flying birds in the wind during the fall? :)

The trap/skeet range out by the airport was closed a number of years ago and everything was moved to the Lethbridge F&G club.

As for slow clays, most days the wind is accelerating the clays :}

Come on, it only blows in Lethbridge on weekends, holidays and during pheasant season. Do what the rest of us do, call in sick to work and go shooting on tuesday afternoons.

Bluelynx, No insult. I lived in Saskatoon for 8 years and it's just as cold as Edmonton. At least I can now go outside to shoot between October and April.
