Pedersoli 1886 clone in 45-70GOVT with a 26” round 1:18” barrel. I love the wood and color case hardened finish. Very accurate to 300m, with my old eyes and open sights. My load currently is the Campro 300gr FNFP copper plated bullet inside of Starline cases with 47.0gr of IMR4198 powder and CCI BR2 LR primers.. This gives a manageable recoil with just over 1900fps. A very nice plinking load that’s not too hard on me or the rifle.

While doing some weekend work, I decided to check a buy sell. At first glance I assumed something was missing, but it really was for sale and complete for just a days wages. I was the 5th viewer on the ad and sent all my contact info immediately! An hour later I was driving to the city to pickup.

A 1980 Winny Mo. 94 in 30-30. My first lever and my first 30-30. I've shot a pre-64 in 32sp before. Any suggestion on ammo? I assume some sort of 140gr round point or polymer tipped stuff?

Any suggestions on what to do with the patina'd receiver?

Do people usually not use slings for these? Do I need a saddle bag on my belt?

The trigger is pretty sloppy but I hear that's just a post-64 issue. I 'll look into adding a spring after some more reading into it.

Funny thing is despite how short it is, it's actually the same length as my bolt action and that was a main selling point for me.....We'll see how it shoots and go from there.

I've been searching for a case coloured 30-30 with octagon barrel now for three years. Looking to pair it up with my Uberti case coloured single action.

Henry has a new production out but also seems to be vapourware in Canada.

Why not get a pre-64 Winchester of some sort and just have the receiver case hardened? Would be way better than any Italian clone or lawyer safety modern miroku.

My 2009 made marlin 336SS skinner sights and brass knuckle grip. Ruger redhawk .357 4.3” 8 shot. KN custom dagger
